'Uneasy' - a piece I finished a few months back has made it's (slightly fraught) journey to Pulp: art and paper in Omaha to take it's place in the 'Paper Dolls' exhibition, a collection of artworks by women in aid of Vday, a charity 'dedicated to ending violence to women and girls'. If you are in the area be sure to go and check it out - Brigitte's gallery and store sound amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing some pics from the opening!

The other day we took a wintery drive out to St. Judes Gallery to see the current exhibition by Jonny Hannah and Mark Hearld - and what a great exhibit it was! St. Jude's shows mainly contemporary British Printmakers, and the linocuts and screenprints by Jonny Hannah were just amazing - very vintage americana-ey - so amazing that my babe splashed out on some real art. He bought one of Jonny's giant sized linocuts and also a small screenprint pour moi...
'El Corazon' - Jonny Hannah
Click title above to go to Jonny's online gallery at the St.Judes website to see more of his work...I love it!

Sorry for the absence over the past few weeks...I am not much of a xmas-ey person these days, so much hype - I'd rather not bother - call me a miserable old cow! I get annoyed that everything seems to stand still for 10 days whilst people exhaust themselves, eating, shopping, drinking - it's all too excessive.
Highlights for me were curling up with my bebe and a bottle of wine and, of course, falling asleep five minutes later. It's always the way. Also, I was given a bread maker of the festive season - and here is my first loaf! Nothing glamorous, just a simple white loaf - I had to cut the crust off and have a nibble and it was marvelous! All the butter went all melty...mmm...
2007 brought with it the opening of the Restless Things Shop which has been a fantastic success. I aim to carry on filling the shop with new original work and prints through the coming year so stay tuned! In addition, 2007 saw me wave buh-bye to my full-time management job so I can now focus more on my art though the coming year. There are some publishing and exhibiting opportunities on the horizon and who knows what else the year will bring...
