...................................................................................

Another week just passed me by last week! Don't you hate it when that happens!? This week I'm cracking on with an exciting project that I've been wanting to do for ages but the time just hasn't been right until now. Hopefully I'll be able to share it later in the week...

You might like this little 'soundslide' about a local company called Old Town - they produce beautiful traditional British workwear that I long to own...from Slowcoast (via All Things Considered).

Got anything exciting planned this week?

Finally...

and without further ado I would like to announce the winner of last weeks giveaway as lucky commenter number 7 - Michelle!!

Thanks to all who have taken part and left such positive comments about this space, they have certainly brightened my thoughts on how I feel about blogging. I will of course be doing so more giveaways in the not to distant future so if you haven't won anything as yet, don't give up there's more opportunities to come!

Behind...

It's only tuesday and I feel like I'm behind on the week already. I know, I haven't posted the winner of the giveaway yet, but I'm about to get right on it!

Up and out early this morning to a good little car boot sale. My favorite seller was there. I call him 'the 20p man' as, you guessed it, he has a van full of junk and everything is 20p an item or you can fill a bag for £1. I get very excited when I see his van off in the distance and spend an age going through his boxes of what is essentially rubbish.

But let's see what I got: a nice glass storage jar, a sweet little dish (great colors!), a broken necklace which is either glass or jade beads (a gift for my mum who is into her beads), a book with nice aged/stained pages to work on and a totally random colored pencil drawing in a frame. All for 80p as he didn't spot the necklace...bonus!

Right, I'm off to pick a winner...

We are...

The lovely Yael Frankel has organised a collaborative project involving around 50 artists from etsy. She has created a monthly mini coloring book featuring black and white designs from 14 different artists each month for you to color in! There are 2 books in the series already, We Are Happy and We Are Scared and I'll be taking part in next month's edition and sharing my piece for it soon so keep your eyes peeled for it!

Today is massively hot. Now that I have finished the above drawing that has been lurking at the back of my desk/brain for at least a week I'm off to find a shady spot (my desk is in the full sun) and maybe have an iced espresso!

Thanks to Antler Magazine and Sweet Sweet Life for the mentions this week!

surely not another giveaway!?

a simple refrain (breaking the night's silence)

I'm in the process of adding two new prints to the Restless Things shop today and as promised several weeks ago I will be continuing with the giveaways!

There are two new editions of 50 standard and 50 large size prints of 'Surely I don't exist if you can't see me?' and 'A simple refrain (breaking the night's silence)' available. These are printed on 285gsm Hahnemuhle Torchon paper which is like a thick card with a lovely watercolor paper-like texture to the surface. And one lucky reader will have the chance to win one of these two beauts!

Just leave a comment below before sunday 23rd august at 9pm gmt and I'll announce the winner (picked at random) on Monday 24th. If in doubt of what to comment about it would be great to hear your thoughts on what you'd like to see in this space...I'm quite a lame blogger half of the time and although I feel I've improved at posting more regularly I often wonder what people expect when they come here :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

surely I don't exist if you can't see me?

musique...

I'm slightly suffering today after my first yoga lesson last night! How can something so simple be so painful!? I thought I'd have a leisurely day today and just post my July mix, this month featuring tracks by The Dodos, DM Stith, Former Ghosts, Golden Isles, The Hidden Cameras, Ruby Suns, Why?, Still Life Still, and Sunset Rubdown.

Enjoy!

I'm back from sunny (well, most of the time) London. I'm terrible at remembering to take photos so there's not much to show for it! I'm thankfully feeling a little more creative than before my trip, a break always does the trick...
