11th october: transpire
gouache and typewriter on old mottled book page

notes: it occurred to me when i was making this piece this afternoon that i don't think i've ever said too much about these oval shapes. in my mind they're portals, to where and to what i don't really know but it's interesting to think about.

That' interesting for me it looks more like a particular fingerprint or a biological structure. But it says maybe more about me looking at it, than about your work. Anyway I like those very much, they are great. The next footstep is to your etsy store. Tempting.

... and they're very alluring portals. Gorgeous as always.

lovely work Olivia--I'm happy that I found your blog. Your concentric circles take me inwards in the same way as Indian yantras--also made with gouache.

I'm glad you shared what you see the ovals as ... like Barbara, I've always seen them as a fingerprint of sorts. That's one of the beautiful things about art I suppose: interpretation.
