room to grow
this is my allotment, acquired in april but due to overwhelmingly terrible weather this year not much really occurred there until the beginning of september. and now i dig, every morning (weather permitting) for one hour i dig up the grass. i turn the soil over and over hunting for weed roots in the sticky soil hoping that i can get a good chunk finished before the ground freezes up for the winter and that next year will in turn bring bounty aplenty.

And every ounce of effort will bring you closer to a harvest next year. My allotment looked like a meadow when I first took it on, but now it puts most of my fruit and vegetables onto plates. You could plant some garlic in a patch of that newly dug soil if you wanted to.
hi! there are some things lurking off in the distance out of shot, about 60 garlic, 60 senshyu onions, some leeks planted in the spring and some spuds for xmas - it's not all the toil i may have made it out to be, just been in a digging funk i guess :)
So nice to come across your blog! Couldn't stop reading it, just finished at day one:) Really enjoy what you do and how you write about it. Your garden look good. Been trying to grow a garden myself for the first time in the desert.
thanks for you comment katya :)
good luck with your dessert garden!
